Dublin Fashion Week

Called into Dublin Fashion week today to say hi to some of the lovely designers who kindly gave us clothes to use on our last Totally Dublin shoot. It was really nice as all of them had copies of our shoot in their showrooms and on their invites and the reaction to it was just amazing. It's just nice to hear back from the people responsible for the clothes from our shoots for once! Corina also managed to grab a few AMAZING pieces for our shoot on Friday so happy days! We then went to Yamamori for foodsies. yumsies. Right now I am the most tired person in the whole universe. Ever. Really wanted to go to the Harvey Nicks show this evening but I was way too tired.

While searching my archive for some old pictures of Assets model Mathew John for a film production company, I stumbled across a really old disc with some shots I took years ago of one of my favourite models Rachel Montague. Her back then agency were trying to make her look 'less sexy' for whatever reason they had. Therefore they put a cap on her and shoved her hair back. Surely the agency had their reason.. But I think Rachel is naturally so sexy with her gorgeous long hair what is the point of trying to change her image like that and make her look like everyone else?
Rachel does some acting as well, she was recently in The Tudors looking SO HOT. and also starred in Paddy Casey's new video which you should check out here.

If I were an actors agent I would snap her up right away! HA!




PS I think I'm going to start doing a 'my favourite model' regular post thingy, kind of like Corina's Model Mondays but going to restrict it to Irish Models which I have worked with and can tell a little story about.. So this is the first.

omg I'm soooo busy these days it's just mental. Mental.
Team Gang (MissLili, YoCo, Lara & Rachel) has a day out on Wednesday. I'm finally escaping the studio and heading to Dublin Fashion Week in the Radisson to check out some of the local designers. Funsies! The next 3 weeks are absolutely mental for me have so much workies so I probably won't have time to blog too much. I probably will though because I am such a blog addict.

Here are my shots of RTE's Joe O'Shea which I just shot (seems like only a few days ago but maybe it was a week ago) for RSVP magazine. The mad thing is, the mag is already out, and already arrived in my mailbox this morning. They for some reason gave me a subscription to it, and I keep getting it sent to me every month, which is nice. I just checked out the website for the first time and found 2 of their covers had my photees.

Today I also rememberd that the Irish Blog Awards are on Saturday in the Alexander Hotel. I am shortlisted for Best Photo Blog this year which is exciting. I don't expect to win or anything, but it will be fun to mingle with all the bloggers. Me, Uners and Iany are going and whoever wants to join us is more than welcome- Well actually I'm not sure because....

behind the scenes in Germania today

This was my second ever shoot in German. It's kinda weird at first (even though I'm fluent) But you just get used to it after a while. There are a few things I always say while shooting (which are very cheesy and everyone takes the piss) which I didn't know how to translate like 'strong eyes' not as in the make-up but expression. And other cheesy sayings like 'FIERCE' etc. I just noticed how used I am to saying some of the things I say during shoots.
Anyway, really enjoyed German shoot, Anna the model was so lovely and so was Maren who did hair & makeup. By the way, all artists in Germany do both hair and make-up. I think that is so awesome. I wish more artists in Ireland did both rather than one or the other. Actually I take that back. It is so much faster if you have two people to do it and they do it at the same time. So maybe it's not better. Hmm I don't know now.

I shot Miss World today at the Radisson in Stillorgan. Was a very rushed shoot only had a couple of hours but it turned out great so it's all good. MeNoFembo are at the studio today recording so I missed American Idol (crysies) because they are making too much noise and I'm not alloud to have the sound on the telly. I took their promo shot though and it looks awesome!! Woooo.

Great night in SPY last night it was the News of The World SCORE ANGELS charity night for FIGHTING BLINDNESS. funsoes!!

This is where i am today on a shoot.

I'm pretty tired today. I think i'm over working myself and not taking enough time off but when everything is so busy it's extremely difficult to just switch off. Any time i'm at home i'd be working on the laptop so in order to chill i need to leave the house. Kinda weird because usually people stay at home to chill. Was shooting in studio all day yesterday . It was a fashion spread for one of the papers . . shoot was loads of fun! Lara is thinking of giving up make up artistry and becoming a professional neon material holder. Ha! Straigt after that shoot i had to go to The Shelbourne to shoot Joe O'Shea for a magazine. After dropping my gear back home i had to (yes, had to) call into iany and mary in the Dice bar for a glass of wine. Otherwise i would've kept doing work all evening. Una and ragin called up as well and also corina so it was funsoes.

Weekend of Randomness

I guess the weekend started on Thursday with drinkies in Keoghs (euughh I hate that place) Ian and I met up with Emma and Darren and Yoco and then Anto and Daragh and Rachel and Anastasia. Stayed there for a few drinks but then it got really annoying so we went over to Cocoon for some cocktails Cocoon was soooo dead which is mad for a thursday night. We then went to Bruxelles and drank jagerbombs. oh why.
(dont you just hate when you order Red Bull and they give you that crap 'Burn' drink instead? It tastes completley different why would they do that? Especially when they actually have Red Bull upstairs but are too lazy to get it. Grrrrrrrr.) So anyway, that was that.
On Friday Ian and I stayed in the Clarence for a night. I did a few jobs for the Clarence and so they gave me a free stay including dins how funsies! It was kinda weird cuz you could basically see our apartment from our hotel window. Saturday it was KKs birthday party in Lucan, was great to see everyone! Saturday night I had to work doing social pics in The Four Seasons at the Gold Cup Ball in aid of Fighting Blindness. Iany came out to help me which was great. Unexpectedly, they also sat us down in the ballroom for dinner. It was a little bit weird sitting there in my black work clothes while all the other ladies were wearing amazing ballgowns. Food was yummy though , Barberry duck breast for starters with pears and blue cheese and rocket salad, and rack of lamb for main. mmmmmm yumsies.

Dublin Fashion Week shoot for Totally Dublin

Did this a few weeks ago and it was so much fun to shoot. Our model Rachel is amazing! I have already shot her so many times but I just keep trying to think of more shoots I can use her for because she is just so brilliant to work with! AAAAGH!

Have been so busy and don't even remember the last time I had a day off. Am working 7 days these days . . Weekend was good fun but very busy. Saturday after working all day in the studio, had to work at Ray Shah's 30th birthday party in Purty Kitchen. Lara came down with me to help me take names down (thanks hun) and then YoCo called up. We then headed up to Spy obviously to catch up with the lovely Rachel M (who was also at Rays party previously giving out yummy free Tiger beer.. mmmm) After Spy me and Lara got a taxi in 0.002 seconds. Which was amazing.

Sunday I was shooting the Jimmy Cake for State in town of and so I missed American Idol repeat. I was informed that Simon looked HOT though. (obviously)

It's Friday!

(I wrote this earlier but then my day went crazy for various different reasons)

So yay it's Friday (means nothing to me as am working all weekend) But still.
Spy tonight shall be fun- Damian Lazarus is playing (not that I know much about his music or anything- sure I don't even know the difference between techno/house/etc.) I do like Minimal funky house though (only joking Anthony) but anyway, last time Damian played the Music Centre I had a Kareoke sing off with him to 99 Luft Ballons. And then I beat everyone singing Vanilla Ice with my eyes closed. ICE ICE BABY.
On Saturday me and the girls are working in the studio and Saturday night I am taking pics at Ray Shah's 30th birthday party which should be fun. Sunday I have a shoot for State. Then the weekend is over :( Today I am shooting a member of Boyzone- funsies!
