me and Corina did this shoot for Candy AAAAGES ago. The model on this shoot is Emma from 1st Option who is amazing. Spotted her at LA MakeUp academy where she came in to do a test shot and I knew right away I wanted her for this. Thankfully she wasn't too busy at school (she is only 16) and was able to shoot with us. This was her first ever photoshoot.

This was Blathnaid's first appearance on national television as Miss Ireland. She spoke about the hectic week coming up to the final and was joined on the couch by the outgoing Miss Ireland, Sarah Morrissey, who spoke about giving up the crown - and her hilarious attempt at becoming an actress!

out and about

Was out and about all day yesterday shooting for Irish Tatler, and today for The Sunday Tribune.. it's nice to get out of the studio every once in a while and do some spontanious photoshoots. I'm so used to thinking about my ideas in advance, and preparing and researching concepts and outfits, and hair and makeup and poses.. So this kinda stuff is completely different. You still have to be creative even though there isn't much room for creativity. The shot can't just look like a boring snapshot, even though you shoot it in 5 mins (max!) and only come up with the shot in the space of 2 seconds. The challange is completely different.
This and last week I also shot loads of new faces which came out of the Miss Ireland contest. Here is gorgeous Miss Velvet Julie Devine.

The awesome Johnny sent me these links yesterday so I thought I would share. You know the times when you watch TV and there is a photoshoot on TV and you get all excited because they are showing the lighting setup but then they only show it for 2 seconds so you can't really see where the 3rd reflector is and you wish they's show it again for longer but then they don't so you get all annoyed? no? i am a geek. Well here are some interesting setups.

1. I have never watched any of Harry Potter. I don't even understand what a wizard is. (He is a wizard isn't he) I did TRY to watch it once, but fell asleep in the first 5 mins. Mid way through the movie (while asleep) I said it was the best movie ever (I don't remember it)

2. I absolutley cannot stand Coriandor. EUGH the thought of it makes me want to barf.

3. I HATE walking. I do love swimming though. It's a pity I can't swim into town.

4. I cannot snooze or sleep during the day, it doesn't matter how tired I am. I also cannot go to bed early. It is just impossible.

5. Up until very recently, I couldn't say the word prescription. (still having some difficulty with it)

6. I am terrified of speaking to groups of more than 4 people.

7. I don't like the Simpsons or The Sopranos or Scrubs.

8. I still get a little nervous before each photoshoot I do.

I HATE seeing shoes on the table, it's such bad luck. I was freaking out inside thinking something was so going to go wrong. but pfew. It didn't.

Avril.

Avril the brat. She only allowed us to take pics for the first 60 seconds of the first song. What's that about? Does she turn into a big fat wrinkely sweaty man after 60 seconds or something? (but I still love her. She looked really hot.) however, from seeing her up close, I didn't think she seemed very into what she was doing. She looked like she was only dancing around because she had to.

Beth said she had to be on stage 5 mins ago, Una was just like yes whatever, I am getting this photee whether you like it or not!

OXEGEN TIME!

This has officially been my worst blogging week ever. I just couldn't get around to it.
Off to a job now too so don't have much time either.
Have a great weekend, and those who are going to Oxegen, I shall see ya'll down the front! WOOOOOO. (already scared and excited about the amount of work I will have to do at Oxegen. But it's all good. and very much the fun.)

Kildare was tonight (Saturday, 30^th June 2007) crowned Miss Ireland 2007 at a glittering Gala Black Tie Event in the Silver Springs Moran Hotel in Cork. The event follows an exhaustive six-month search to uncover the country’s most beautiful women. Blathnaid bet 24 of Ireland’s most beautiful women in the grand final to claim the title of Miss Ireland 2007.
