5 of my photographs of plus size model Sinead Monaghan were on the telly today on Seoige & O'Shea. This was the discussion.
Last week the death took place of the 21-year-old Brazilian model, Ana Carolina Reston. She weighed just 88 pounds, was 5'7" tall and succumbed to a generalised infection caused by anorexia nervosa. The model died on the eve of a Paris photoshoot, having kept her weight down on a diet of tomatoes and apples. This follows events in September when the organisers of Madrid Fashion Week banned super-skinny models after the death of model Luisel Ramos, 22, of heart failure, reportedly after weeks of consuming nothing but lettuce and diet drinks. So how does what's happening in the fashion industry impact of how young girls see themselves? To talk about this, Gráinne and Joe are joined by Suzanne Horgan, who is a body image consultant and by a model with a more representative figure Sinead Monaghan.

Reston, 1.72m tall and weighing only 40kg, had been in hospital since October 25 due to a kidney malfunction. Her condition became more serious and deteriorated into a generalised infection that led to her death on Tuesday. Born to a middle-class family in Jundiai, near Sao Paulo, Reston had worked for renowned modelling agencies such as Ford, Elite and L'Equipe, in countries like China, Turkey, Mexico and Japan.

A look behind the scenes of the Irish modelling and fashion industry. 10 minute trailer for a six-part tv series follows model agent Derek Daniels on the Blossom Hill Catwalk Tour and on to the Miss Ireland competition. Unfortunately from 2004.. would have loved to have seen it all !

First of all, congrats to Miss Mullally for yet again kicking ass at Comedy night in the Ha'peny Inn last night (beating Aidan Bishop YET AGAIN! ROCK!)
After work on Monday, Corina and I headed to the B.Young Fashion Show in the Odeon which was organised by Bscene.
Cool show, here are a few snaps from the nite. We then headed to RiRa's Strictly Handbag birthday bash which Corina had invites to, (basically just to get the Harvey Nichols goody bag) but anyway, it wasn't happening at all.
Ariadna (one of my fave models eva!)
Here are a few people I photographed recently....
to name but a few....................

it was down all weekend which was just awful for an internet nerd like me.
haven't updated for a week due to no time actually...
on Thurs eve, after shooting gorgeous rugby player Filipe Contempomi, went to the Stags Head for a few quiet pints with Ian and Corina. Then we thought we'd call up to Anthony over in Bia Bar where King Britt was playing some cool tunes. Then, we had the most fantastic idea of calling up to Marky Sparky who was DJing in Club M. Corina had never been there before so she was extremely excited. We busted some moves like beyonce and of course ended up in the best restaurant in town- Ricks Burgers where Corina felt the need speak into their loudspeaker reading out the numbers. Did a photoshoot with The Gudmen on Friday eve which was fun and then had a horrible flu-ey weekend where I slept a lot, and watched Corrie Omnibus and XFactor.
